Well this conversation is kind of moot if the Libs get in. No F35 and replacement of the CF18 "when necessary". Huh?
At very minimum there should be at least some suggestion of what an acceptable aircraft is & a timeframe for replacement. They wouldn't do the same thing as previous such as keeping VooDoos & Starfighters in the air long after their best before date would they?

btw; thanx for pulling my artillery support from there. What does light infantry need with a little back up once in awhile...
If I argued the censorship anymore-I would have been censored even more-until which point I self-detonated and pulled a Gerryh. Screw it, selective censorship is not my cup of tea.

Exactly. We went through this bull with the Helicopters. We went through this with the Nuclear subs that turned into borrowed diesel subs that leak catch fire. Yep the Liberals plan is to shit-can any upgrade. Been there, done that, buy the F35's.

Making our people fly those Sea Kings for so long really pissed me off. The liberals likely did that out of spite to rankle Mulroney.

Our military was becoming a joke far and wide (could we trouble you for a lift please?). The subs are a friggin' embarrassment. Nobody bitched when we built frigates.

It's time to be supplied with a fighter that will last 40 years or more and provide Canadian companies and their employees ample opportunity to make good bucks.

It's high time we looked after our serving personnel as well as those that served. With pride and gratitude.

Quitcher bitchin' and ante-up. Wealth distribution...it's the liberal way after all.
    Liberalism is a mental disorder

Lets turn the clocks back some 52 years & mourn the loss of our military aerospace. An upgraded Arrow might still be in the air today, the world might knocking our doorstep for the next generation Iroquois engine & our armaments could be state of the art if we had of kept the design of the Sparrow. Oh wait a sec we can't do that Dief's Cons cancelled the projects. My my how shortsighted.

The Arrow cancellation was stupid. I couldn't agree more, but it has become somewhat of a fable over the years. The aerospace industry, as a whole, has undergone numerous highs and lows.

At any rate hindsight is 20/20 and foresight is as blind as a bat.
