Has a campaign ever meant so little?

What a pointless, odd, stale, stagnant election this is. As far as pointless goes, the only substantive difference between this campaign and the previous one is that Mr. Ignatieff is Liberal leader and not Stéphane Dion. Otherwise, the players are the same, the rankings more or less as they were then, support for the respective parties not much different and the appetite of the public for the event equally as pinched and meagre for it as it was two years ago.
