    NDP & Quebec

60 seats eh. The majority of the caucus. Its going to interesting watching the machinations involved in whipping them into a cohesive force.
The Sherbrooke Declaration effectively makes those 60 NDPers Separatists in spirit if not name. What is going to be the reaction of other 42, as part of the party platform they should support the Declaration too. That being the case we now have a cross country Quebec separatist party as "Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition".
    Maybe hyperbole, who knows.
is there an NDP Policy expert in the house? Please explain.

How does the Sherbrooke declaration make the Quebec NDPers separatists?

If I can permit myself a comment. There is a whole spectrum between ''federalist'' and ''separatist''. Thinking in black and white does nothing to adequately portray the complexity of the issue.

Your right. I decided to look up the declaration rather than listen to hearsay. While it supports the 50%+1 concept it also makes plain the Quebec section of the NDP first choice is to negoiate & stay within a complete Canada.

Who cares about minor semantics, the NDP should be thanked for desimating the Bloc and replacing it with a federalist party.

This will likely be the NDP's only kick at the can as far as opposition goes so this gives the Libs and Cons a chance to make inroads in Quebec and stomp out the Bloc heads for good.

I think the NDP is going to be very interesting as the opposition, but whether they will make inroads might be a stretch. They may well invigorate the block.

The Bloc are done, this gives the Libs and Cons 4 years to establish a base in this province.

The NDP, while I did vote for them, are probally going to make fools of themselves with the amount of young and green MP's.

Heck the deputy leader of the NDP already said something stupid about conspiracies and Bin Floatin's death.
