    Imp,

I don't know you that well, but I think I know you well enough to know that you'd be more unhappy if you bowed to your parents wishes than if you stood up for your own point of view. You'll do the right thing, but don't feel that respecting your parents means you shouldn't respect yourself.
    Matthew

10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
Maybe Jesus was a politician. ;)

You ever need a Christian to debate the bible with them just let me know :)

That scripture was meant for judging who we should or shouldn't give witness too. It surely doesn't give us the right to condemn people. Nothing in the bible gives us the right to condemn people.

BTW according to the bible, it's a parents job to teach their children that.
I suggest you get ahold of their pastor and see what his view is on this. I can almost guarantee he'll have a sermon on it. Which is funny in a haha way.

You get someones preacher to scold them and they'll do anything you want.

My Dad is a conservative Democrat and last time we talked politics in April he was leaning McCain. I have purposely not inquired of late if that is still his view. It doesn't matter enough to me to find out in terms of opening that box. But you're not alone. Mrs. Holly sent this to me yesterday after seeing it and reflecting on her own situation ( I mean it's so bad that when we go to her parents we park down the block so mom doesn't see the Obama bumper sticker ):

    Parental unit? haha nicely put!
I'm tryin' to ignore it, after forwardin' them all back, I haven't responded only once today just because I'm not in the mood for their silly shit today.
Thankfully my parental units are 1000 miles away and I don't have to visit daily, sorry to hear Mrs.Holly and you have to go to such lengths, it is insane.
Thanks for the link, that was interestin' and it is good to know I'm not alone.;)

Thanks Vile, you do know me well enough and I won't bow to their wishes. I just am fightin' a lossin' battle tryin' to make them be more open minded. Their loss I suppose.

Funny how christians can twist the bible to use against folk in their own ways. and thanks, I maybe askin' more about scriptures in the future.

Naw, I have no plans of gettin' ahold of his pastor, lol. Not only are my parents far away from me, their pastor is busy runnin' a few churches and preachin' his sermons on TV, no doubt he wouldn't even have time to listen to me if he could.
As influential as my dad is there, I doubt he'd get scolded. besides, that's not how I operate.

I either tell him myself face to face or ignore it. This time I'm tryin' to ignore it just so I can keep talkin' to my mom but if the tides turn, then so be it.
I've gone near 30 years not talkin' to them, I'm sure I can go another 30 if they want it that way.

Here's a lil diddy I sent today, I hope he likes it.

    FIRST BOOK OF REPUBLICAN

McCain Is My Shepherd, I Shall Not Want.
He Leadeth Me Beside Still Factories,
He Restoreth My Faith In The Democratic Party,
He Guideth Me In The Paths Of Unemployment.
Yea, Though I Walk Through The Valley Of The Bread Line, I Shall Not Go Hungry.
McCain Has Anointed My Income With Taxes,
My Expenses Runneth Over My Income,
Surely, Poverty And Hard Living Will Follow Me All The Days Of My Life.
The Republicans And I Will Live Forever In a Rented Room.

But I Am Glad I Am an American,
I Am Glad That I Am Free.
    But I Wish I Was A Dog
    And McCain A Tree.
If you can't laugh at yourself, I'll be glad to do it for you.

Well, i guess its just your parents way to let you stand your own feet and not depend on them. I guess its in your culture already. It was really different from our belief here in our country, that even our son or daughter reaches 30 they can still live with their parents. Its already up to our kids if they want to separate or not. For us, we can feel calmness if our kids are with us. So, that we can still guide them in every path they take.
