The church expecting a "tithe" from every member is nothing but a "God" tax. I understand that the church needs "donations" in order to afford the buildings they own, and in some cases, the community deeds they do. However, as I have aged, I've come to realize that more of my money was going towards earthly possessions for the church than for those community events. If you want to live your life in strict adherence to some man made 10% rule, go for it. It's your right. But there are other ways to honor your God than giving your money to a church.

I think you should give it to the needy.
Start savin' it up and when you get enough, get that car you need that the church wouldn't help you with.
If you can't laugh at yourself, I'll be glad to do it for you.
