i saw a bible code documentary that says that there will be a major earthquake in la in 2010. it should be interesting to see if anything happens.

ooooohhh... what an amazing revelation! I didn't know that LA was around in biblical times... I suppose Bear's ancestors may have been living in Hollywood back then...

So if it doesn't happen, is the bible then false? Or just the idiots that are "decoding" the bible in this way?

On average, about 60 earthquakes per year are classified as significant, with 19 classified as major. A significant earthquake is one of magnitude 6.5 or higher or one of lesser magnitude that causes casualties or considerable damage. Major earthquakes have a magnitude larger than 7.0.

Unless the Bible predicts the exact location, date and time I wouldn't put much stock in it. It seems there is an endless interpretation of codes, writings and visions that are vague and still rarely pan out. An accuracy rate of 1 or 2 % though, seems to eradicate the 98% failure in the minds of some.

But I did check with a seer and the GFPB top 10 predictions for 2010:

A federal election will be called in Canada;
There will be a major earthquake in Asia;
Western North America will experience severe wildfires;
Obama will be involved in a scandal that will shake his government;
There will be a major terrorist attack in the West;
Iran will experience a political revolution;
A significant and beloved celebrity will die an untimely death;
There will be a nuclear reactor issue in Asia;
There will be a major drought and famine somewhere in N. Africa;
There will be Muslims rioting in Europe.
