I have to admit. I didn't think it was too surprising that Blockbuster was going under, with Netflix, iTunes and On Demand taking over the pie.

Well, on a personal note, I decided to take a trip to the small Blockbuster location that is closing in my town.

Surprisingly, there was quite a bit of people at this store, as they were going through a huge fire-sale. Most of their DVD, Blu-ray and game shelves were all empty, as everything was 30% off there.

I decided to snag Alien (1979) and O Brother Where Art Thou (2000), as I got them for $20.98. The DVDs were $14.99 as I got $4.50 off both of them. With tax, the total price was $23.71.

While I was making my purchase, I had made some small talk with the girl who was at the desk, helping me. She said that it's been a very stressful time for them.

Poor guys. While it is upsetting to see them go, it was bound to happen with NetFlix and iTunes. Hell, for the most part, iTunes is basically my place to go for films!
