    DVD Ripper

I'm looking for software that will rip dvd's to DIVX format. Anyone have any recommendations? Freeware would be cool since I don't currently have access to a WalMart or BestBuy!

    Thanks in advance.

    I would go this route:

    1. Download & Install DVD SHRINK (DVD decrypt & output to ISO)
    2. Briefly read documentation
    3. Load DVD, rip DVD to non-encrypted ISO
    4. Install Handbrake (Video transcoder, dvd to divx etc)
    5. Select decrypted DVD ISO image as source, select folder & file name for destination.
    6. Run transcode, transcode time varies by CPU type.

There are easier ways to do it, but it would require you to have somewhat of an advanced knowledge of this sort of thing. Steps I gave should work easy enough though.

Note: Software you need to download is open source or shareware.

... like Durka said (I use DVD SHRINK myself)
