I want to learn how to play acoustic guitar.

Anyone from this place want to teach me? It's not so much a job offer, as a "work-for-food" offer, and I'm a damn good cook!!

    :blum:

If not there's a place near my house. $22 a lesson, which sounds a bit pricey, but they don't make me come on a schedule, which is a bonus. Hoping to get in with the guy tomorrow.

What is a normal, 1 hr fee for guitar lessons anyways?

    $22/hr i guess.

$22 an hour seems cheap...but run if they want you to use the changing room and there's an really big mirror in it.:shifty:

$22 per half hour is about average for a music store lesson. Check that with them, because I rarely see hour-long lessons.

You might get private lessons from someone that are less money and less rigid about the length of the lesson.

I'd volunteer for the cooking barter if we lived closer!

It would have to be breakfast though...:blum:

But are you sitting on your groceries? Not being serious here, it's a line from a popular Joni Mitchell song.

If you're still looking, I can recommend two excellent guitar players who also teach. They both work in a music store or will come to you, your choice. If it's the latter, you'll likely get a 45 minute lesson or even an hour for the price of a half hour at the store. If you want more information, just email me.

Ha! Muz said it would have to be breakfast, so he wasn't responding positively to the food necessarily. Good one there Muz.

If you are going at it seriously then take lessons but you can learn on your own. I recommenced going to Chapters and buying the book guitar for dummies. It is cheep and will cover a wide variety of styles.
