Absolutely not. Everyone is entitled to lawfully gather and practice whatever they wish to. But not every gathering can be categorized under the same heading, imo.
Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional minority, and rabidly promoted by the mainstream media which holds forth that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end

No, not everyone... prisoners are not granted freedom of association. Since this article is the result of the needs of prisoners, you might want to keep in mind the unique situation presented by incarceration.

    Ya right. Pppffft. Fuck me.

There is no such thing as 'atheism'. That BS is nothing more than organized religion labeling people that accept reality at face value and do not tow their party line.

How many 'Church of the Holy Atheist' are there in your town? Hmmmmmmmm?

Leave us people who are willing to accept the universe at face value, and then not be afraid of it, alone.

That's why i put the word "lawfully" in my post, karrie. Apologies if I was not specific enough.

Prisoner's are granted conditional freedom of association in study group's, step programs, religious services, and so on....

The prisoners were denied the right to create a 'study group'. The courts are ruling that their right to meet based on their belief about the nature of the universe should be protected.

If you'd rather join the nuts they discuss on worldnetdaily in thinking that only 'true' religions deserve protection under the law, well, giddy up I suppose.

well, does not calling it a 'church' mean that the group meetings aren't happening? I love when people bring out essentially the 'atheists aren't an organization' argument in a thread where the origin of the article is a bunch of atheists who are organizing surrounding their atheism.

OK then. Could you send me a number for my local chapter? You know, of the atheists guild or whatever we call our selves.

As Les would tell you, Google 'The Brights'. You can get a bumper sticker from them, find out where and when your local groups meet, and even find some pics of some cool symbols to tattoo yourself in to show you're a member. Don't forget to stop and donate on your way out.
