Well, now for my more serious Post-coffee interpretation...
That one has the freedom to go about one's business in the pursuit of happiness is paramount and no law shall impeded that freedom.
But I exist in a society to whose laws I willingly abide by so as to reap the benefits of said society even if they might restrict my freedom. The net result being I am more free to go about my Great Work (life) unfettered by others.
Law is based upon compassion for fellow man for which we willingly subjugate ourselves to the Laws of society.

This thread could easily be meshed with the Meaning of life
Good point! This is a night discussion thread where we wax philosophical and get expansive not a perky morning thread.
I do think what you said was right though I have been trying to tear at it to open discussion a bit more. Back to my coffee.
There have to be other interpretations.
I've heard my sister say this so many times but never thought to ask her what it meant.
To me,the second part is pretty cut and dried....you are performing a Protection ritual for your loved ones and will benefit from this ritual by being able to do your work without worry your loved ones are left unprotected.
As was mentioned...Tri can give further depth to this probably long before I could email my sister and get a reply from her.
Live for the moment and never regret anything that makes you smile
Do what thou Wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
Your direction is guided by the prinicpal of freedom to do what you want to do
It is my Will to perform the ritual of Protection, that I might enjoy the benefits thereof,
I choose to surround those I love so that we all should be protected from harm
that allow me greater freedom and power to accomplish the Great Work.
and so protected, can better myself and mankind
Love is the Law, Love under Will
This is a little more complex. Will is not ego. Will is soul. And you must let your soul (and therefore your life and decisions (Law) be guided by pure love.
This is actually the practice of Thelema. Most times it is attributed to Alister Crowley, but there is evidence of previous philosophy dating back to a Benedictine Monk in the 16th Century. The idea is that Will is your deepest and rightest soul, your true calling deep beyond just your heart and mind. To "do what you will" is to follow what is your true calling.
Thelema is not really a religion in and of itself. It is more a philosophy incorporated into several different religions. Wicca's version is expressed through the Wiccan Rede (A rede being a statement of morality). The Wiccan Rede is expressed as "An it harm none, do what thou wilt". This is generally used in line with the idea that whatever you wish for another comes back to you threefold.
If aliens are looking for intelligent life?! WHY THE HECK ARE YOU SCARED?!
