    My New Toca djembe

Now, here's the thing. Most of you know I already have a few drums--three djembes, two congas, two doumbeks, and a set of bongos, along with other hand percussion and rattle things. So, I've decided to pass along this new drum to someone who doesn't already have as many as me. It's a little essay contest kinda deal. Write me an email, doesn't have to be too long, 25 or 50 words or whatever, and tell me why you'd like to have this black beauty. Get them to me by Friday July 10 and then come to the Byrd Park drum circle on Sunday the 13th and I'll give this to some lucky lucky drummer. Those are pretty much the only rules. If we have inclement weather, I'll ask everyone to come out to the Midlothian circle the next Sunday. Plain and simple? Interested? Well, get to typing, yo!

I'm in a shitty mood and drums always bring up my spirits.

In the recent past I was reunited with my Maternal tribe. The Eastern Cherokee tribe. For the last 8 years Ive created and Birthed One Sided Cherokee Journeying Drums. These drums mean a great deal to me. They contain the heart beat of mother earth and when I play Im at one with the Universe. I have been wanting another vehicle to Mothers Heart. Ive ppriced them over the years and on my fixed income its been near impossible to magage. When your email came I was very upset. A friend and I had had a disagreement and they wont talk to me. I pulled out my drum and begged Mother to loosen their tongue to help me communicate with them in a language they understood. Many intentions are blessed over that elk skin and if you choose me many more healing intentions will go out to the Universe through the Toca djembe.

    Namaste
    Bless Be
