Danforth Road was a disaster zone last night. Driving through hail in the left lane observing trees (not branches) down in the right lane. Other right lane had lakes where storm drains used to be.

Appearantly I am the only driver in Toronto that understands a traffic light out due to a power failure is a 4 way stop.

This is Toronto nasty things of nature don't happen here. Why do you think our memory of Hurricane Hazel (not the Mississauga mayor) is like yesterday.

Nobody ever said this was as bad as that. But it wasn't a nice sunny day in the park either.

It also happened at the centre of the universe so is naturally more important.

At 10 I'm heading out to cut up the last tree, after killing one chainsaw on the other 8 trees.

We lost a fence, SCB's brand new veggie garden, to the neighbourse tree.

Some of my neighbours weren't so lucky.

Now THAT is storm damage. One of the "perks" of going rural though. You're way more exposed.

There has been alot of damage out this way as well, with these wind storms and thunderstorms. Lots of downed trees, sheds, barns. Neighbours lawn furniture ending up in our backyard and my neighbours aren't excately close. They live just under a mile away. (knock on wood) We haven't suffered any damage.....so far.
Sorry to hear you guys suffered damages Bear.

The best perk of all is, even though it's hard work and hard on equipment, as a community we come together, pitch in and get it fixed as a team. Other than stumps, by the end of today, you wouldn't know there was any damage done here.

Thanx Brat, it wasn't so bad, SCB already bought new plants for her veggie garden, and while me a Kooter are taking care of the last tree on our list. She'll be putting her garden back in order.

The fence was on our list of things to do this year anyways, although we wanted to do it in September, lol.

On another personal note, my Dad has actually been out to Guelph and the Peterborough area with his work, to clean up the mess there. Basically, his work is there to cut down trees and repair the power lines and such.

In Guelph, he was there for 3 days.

For Peterborough, he's been there for the entire weekend.

Apparently, during this weekend, he's been working from 7am to 11pm, as this job is cutting into his regular sleeping hours. Still, he is getting paid good money right now, so hopefully, that shouldn't be so bad for him.

Sorry to hear about the damages in your areas, Bear and Brat.
