Here is a more detailed explanation of the warning/infraction system.
Warnings are reminders of the board’s expectations and cause no points to be added.
Infractions are issued when serious breaches of civility or other guidelines occur, and each infraction is worth a specific number of points (for example, being infracted for creating a second user account adds five points). Infractions have expiry times (generally one month); if a member receives a second infraction, the second infraction’s month starts when the previous infraction expires (i.e., they ‘stack’). If a member, at any time, has twenty points, they are suspended by the system until enough points expire to bring them back under twenty points. If a member ever receives twenty or more infractions (not points, but twenty individual infractions), whether or not those infractions are active or expired, the system issues an automatic one-month ban. Should a member receive more infractions beyond the twentieth, each individual infraction results in another one-month ban (regardless of the points).
